Electrostatic precipitators

Electrostatic precipitators used by the energy sector can be dangerous if not managed correctly—anything that uses an excess of 10,000 volts could have serious consequences for anyone who comes into contact with it.

Hazardous energy should therefore be powered down and safely grounded before employees are granted access. However, when a process is the only barrier preventing this access there’s always room for human error.

With STI’s safety interlocks, human error is impossible. By forcing a predetermined sequence, a machine must be powered down before doors access is granted. This prevents anyone from accessing hazardous areas when they shouldn’t, keeping them safe and operations working efficiently.


Before maintenance, measurement, or intervention operations can happen in switchgear or substations (LV to HV), power isolation and earthing must occur. This is a mandatory step that ensures electrical equipment is safe to approach.

Security locks for the energy sector
